Cookies and browser storage

Effective 2026

What this notice covers

This notice describes the supplied static pages, stylesheet and script for pufftinkerpuzzl.buzz. Cookies are small values a website can ask a browser to store. localStorage and sessionStorage are separate browser storage mechanisms. A temporary JavaScript variable is different again: it normally disappears when the page is reloaded.

Storage used by the supplied tools

The supplied site code does not set cookies, write to localStorage or sessionStorage, install a service worker, or load analytics and advertising trackers. It does not use a persistent identifier to track your puzzle attempts.

  • Timer: keeps a deadline and display state temporarily in page memory. It does not save a history.
  • Navigation: keeps the current open or closed menu state in the page.
  • Solution panels: use standard browser disclosure elements and are not recorded by the site script.
  • Contact tool: holds form values and generated text in the page while you use it. It does not upload them.

Copying, exporting and browser features

If you click Copy text, the browser may request clipboard permission. A successful copy places the generated message on your device’s clipboard. If you export a message, the browser downloads a text file. These are user-requested device actions, not tracking cookies. The site cannot clear the copies after you leave.

Your browser may independently cache page files, remember form values, restore a tab or store download history. Those features are controlled by your browser and device settings. A downloaded file or copied message may remain after website data is cleared.

Hosting and deployment features

A hosting platform or a consent interface added separately at deployment may have its own technical storage behaviour. The supplied page scripts do not implement those services or establish their cookie names, purposes or retention periods. Any deployed service that introduces optional tracking must be accurately disclosed and obtain consent where required before that tracking starts.

This notice does not claim that browser privacy settings can block every kind of server log. Technical requests used to deliver the pages are discussed in the privacy notice.

Your controls

You can inspect and remove website data through your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking cookies does not prevent the supplied timer or contact text generator from working, because those tools do not rely on cookies. Disabling JavaScript leaves the guide text and native solution disclosures readable, but disables the timer, mobile dropdown and contact generator.

To remove a generated message from a shared device, clear the form or close the page, clear the clipboard as appropriate, and delete any exported file and its device backups. Browser session restoration may require additional steps in your browser settings.
